Not even detecting my ATI Radeon x
Wait for Windows 8 support to become available. Reply Helpful Thread reply – more options Link to this Post. ATI’s “Detect and install” does not work, while the Catalyst driver for x simply states that it has failed to install.
In an emergency, you have to boot in safe mode. As I wrote earlier, I’m having the exact same problem in 7 as I had in Windows 8. Works like a charm, and it helped me defeat a bug in Assassins Creed.
I have the same sort of question, but with nvidia drivers. Anyone know of a sneaky workaround? Maybe Apple wants to certify the drivers before ATI releases them?

I tried to be a clever monkey and just install the drivers by force via the Device Manager. Remember me This is not recommended for shared computers.
Posted 22 October – I’m not sure that I notice a huge difference, but at least the games aren’t nagging me any more. The bootcamp drivers seem to rzdeon fine otherwise, but do not fix this problem.
Get the latest ATI drivers for x1600 mobile for mbp/imac!
May not be the newest driver, but way better than the Basic Display Driver. Posted 18 December – I tried the first one, and it wouldn’t display. Feb 20, 6: I tried the Vista legacy driver with no success, perhaps I’m just looking in the wrong place for this driver? In device manager, it only lists the Basic Windows Display.
